Jordan Grants 34 Airlines Operating Permits for the 2026–2027 Winter Season

Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission has announced the start of the 2026–2027 winter flight season on Sunday, October 25, 2026. It has granted 34 airlines permits to operate scheduled services to and from Jordan, comprising 32 foreign carriers and two Jordanian airlines.

According to a post on the commission’s Facebook page, the winter permits cover scheduled passenger and cargo flights, supporting connectivity between Jordan and regional and international markets and stimulating travel, tourism and trade.

Approximately 960 weekly passenger flights

The commission expects scheduled passenger services to reach around 960 flights a week during the winter season, alongside approximately 20 weekly cargo flights.

The destination network includes Arab countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria.

European destinations include the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, Hungary, Cyprus and Belgium, alongside Türkiye, Georgia and Russia. The network also covers the United States, Canada, India, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco.

Cargo services to seven countries

The commission identified seven countries in Jordan’s winter cargo network: Egypt, Türkiye, the Netherlands, the UAE, Pakistan, Libya and Lebanon.

Scheduled cargo services are expected to support freight transport and strengthen commercial and logistics connections between Jordan and regional and international markets.

Overflight permits for 73 airlines

The commission also announced that 73 airlines had been granted permits for regular overflights through Jordanian airspace during the 2026–2027 winter season.

It said the permits formed part of efforts to regulate traffic through Jordanian airspace, improve airspace management procedures and strengthen safety and operational efficiency.

The commission continues to monitor airline compliance with approved requirements and develop air transport regulations and procedures in line with Jordan’s national air transport strategy.

These measures aim to support a sustainable civil aviation sector, improve air transport services for passengers and airlines, and strengthen the Kingdom’s connections with overseas markets.
