Hussein Sherif announces renewal of the cooperation agreement with the Egyptian Air Traffic Controllers’ Club on their international day.
Air Cairo joined the Egyptian Air Traffic Controllers’ Club’s annual celebration of the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller. The event recognized controllers’ central role in aviation safety and the demanding responsibilities requiring expertise, professionalism and constant vigilance to ensure smooth air traffic and protect aircraft and passengers. It also acknowledged their contribution to the growth of Egyptian civil aviation and its ability to keep pace with international developments.
During the celebration, Air Cairo Chairman Hussein Sherif announced an allocation of EGP 5 million from the airline’s budget to support the club. The funding will contribute to training development and improved controller proficiency, investing in people as a foundation of excellence and sustainability in aviation.
The event also marked the renewal of the cooperation agreement between Air Cairo and the club, affirming their continuing partnership. It supports coordination on shared interests, safety culture and professional awareness, exchanges of knowledge and expertise, and the application of industry best practices and approved standards.
Sherif said Air Cairo was pleased to celebrate with Egypt’s air traffic controllers and recognize their vital national and professional role in protecting Egyptian airspace and ensuring safe air traffic. He emphasized that their precise work demands knowledge, experience and constant vigilance, deserving appreciation and pride.
He said the EGP 5 million contribution reflected Air Cairo’s belief in cooperation across civil aviation institutions and would support training programmes and specialist skills. Investing in people, he added, is an investment in the future of Egyptian aviation and the highest safety and operational efficiency standards.
Sherif welcomed the renewed agreement as an opportunity for broader collaboration, experience sharing and professional best-practice awareness, strengthening ties between Air Cairo and civil aviation stakeholders.
Mohamed Abdel Moneim, chairman of the Egyptian Air Traffic Controllers’ Club, said Air Cairo’s participation reflected close cooperation across the sector and the importance of joint efforts to support specialists and improve training and professional qualifications. He praised the partnership as a positive step emphasizing investment in people and preparing professionals for growing industry demands and rapid developments, particularly in air traffic management systems.
He expressed hope that the renewed agreement would expand cooperation and generate further initiatives serving aviation employees and supporting Egypt’s civil aviation system.
