Pickalbatros Marketing Director Expects Turkish Tourism and Flights to Egypt to Double in 2027

Mohamed Eid, Regional Marketing Director of Pickalbatros Hotels and Resorts, expressed optimism about the Turkish tourism market in Egypt, predicting that Turkish visitor numbers and flights will double in 2027 amid growing demand for Egyptian destinations, particularly Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. He was speaking during the group’s participation in the Antalya Tourism Fair (ATF) in Turkey, held October 26–28, 2026.

The group attracts large numbers of Turkish visitors thanks to its all-inclusive resorts, mild weather, competitive prices and the short distance between Egypt and Turkey. Laguna Vista, Royal Grand and Albatros Palace resorts in Sharm El Sheikh are particularly popular with the Turkish market.

He said flight figures demonstrate the market’s growth potential. Pegasus operated around 900 flights to Sharm El Sheikh through the end of September, while AJet operated nearly 400. He expected these totals to reach approximately 1,200 for Pegasus and 600–700 for AJet by year-end, provided expected growth continues.

He added that the group has stepped up promotion through tourism fairs in Istanbul and Antalya, direct agreements with tourism companies and airlines, and incentive programmes and new marketing ideas to attract Turkish travellers. These include hosting Turkish influencers and celebrities and organising joint Egyptian-Turkish events.

Eid stressed that Egypt’s diverse tourism experience offers an additional advantage: Turkish travellers can combine a Red Sea resort stay with visits to Cairo and the Egyptian Museum in a single trip. He expressed hope for stronger growth and greater stability in Turkish arrivals to Egypt in the 2027 season.
