Visitors can receive instant answers to their questions at any time and in multiple languages.
Orascom Pyramids Entertainment (OPE), responsible for developing and operating visitor services at the Giza Pyramids archaeological site, has launched a free artificial intelligence-powered assistant on WhatsApp. The service forms part of its agreement with the Supreme Council of Antiquities to improve the visitor experience at one of the world’s most important heritage sites.
The initiative supports the company’s ongoing efforts to provide an easier, more integrated visit, combining Egypt’s ancient civilization with modern digital solutions. Visitors can access information and guidance before arriving and during their tour.
The assistant supports Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Chinese, alongside many other languages. Visitors from around the world can ask questions in their preferred language and explore available services without downloading another app or creating an additional account.
Designed to respond naturally and directly, the assistant provides information and guidance to help visitors plan their trip and use services within the Pyramids area.
Information available through the assistant
Tickets and entry: Ticket types, opening hours and site admission procedures.
Private visits and VIP services: Available packages and how to enquire or book.
Getting around: Internal shuttle buses, their stops and routes, and golf carts.
Facilities and services: Restaurants, cafés, shops, toilets and other amenities.
Visitor guidelines: Site rules and requirements for photography and drone use.
Directions and monuments: Guidance to major landmarks, including the Sphinx and the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure.
To ensure accuracy, the assistant uses information approved by Orascom Pyramids’ operations team in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities. If a question falls outside the available information, it directs visitors to the appropriate authority rather than offering an unverified answer.
By making the service available on WhatsApp, one of the world’s most widely used messaging platforms, the Giza Pyramids plateau joins heritage sites using AI to improve the visitor experience and access to information.
The initiative reflects Orascom Pyramids’ approach to creating an integrated visit that preserves the site’s exceptional value while offering modern services suited to visitors from around the world.
How to use the service
The service is available free of charge on WhatsApp at +201043288426.
Visitors can also scan QR codes at the visitor centre and throughout the site to start a conversation immediately, without downloading an additional app or creating a new account.
