Ahmed El-Wassif won the chairmanship of the board of the Egyptian Tourism Federation in its new term unopposed for 4 years, during today's procedural session of the federation's board in its full formation, after elected boards had been absent from the tourism chambers for about 3 years.
The board's first meeting settled the formation of the executive office, comprising Ahmed El-Wassif as chairman of the federation, with Nasser Turky, Tamer Tadros and Mohamed Abdullah as members. No vice chairman or treasurer was chosen, as the federation's bylaws do not require it.
These complementary and final steps came after the issuance of Decree No. 58 of 2019 by the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, forming the 16-member board of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, which includes the heads of the federation's five chambers, the six elected members and 5 members appointed by the Minister of Tourism, including a representative of the ministry.
