The summit is one of the most prominent annual events on the global calendar of tourism events.

The summit's events are attended every year by a large number of prominent figures and leaders of the travel and tourism industry around the world, making it a platform for decision-makers to meet with representatives of the private tourism sector to discuss the future of the travel and tourism industry and raise awareness of the economic and social impact of this vital industry worldwide.

Last week, the World Travel and Tourism Council announced the results of its research for 2018, in which it compared the travel and tourism sector in 185 countries. It showed that tourism in Egypt witnessed a huge boom and recovery in 2018, as it is the fastest-growing in North Africa, with travel and tourism growing by 16.5% last year, exceeding the global average of 3.9%.
