Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Tourism, met with Jeremy Jauncey, founder of Beautiful Destinations, a global company specializing in tourism promotion, and one of the most important social media bloggers and influencers specializing in tourism and travel, who is visiting Egypt for the first time, as well as Elizabeth Linder, the company's Executive Director of External Relations, and Remy Carlioz, the company's Creative Director.
The meeting discussed ways of cooperating with the company in implementing some aspects of Egypt's international promotional campaign, including creating new promotional and marketing content for various tourist sites in Egypt and broadcasting it through the company's various social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and Weibo.
Beautiful Destinations is one of the world's largest companies specializing in promoting various destinations through social media, with more than 20 million followers in about 180 countries around the world on its various platforms.
During the meeting, Al-Mashat noted that modernizing tourism promotion mechanisms is one of the main pillars of the structural reform program launched by the ministry to develop the tourism sector, pointing out that the new promotional campaign aims to present a contemporary and more modern image of Egypt.
Al-Mashat reviewed the campaign's three main pillars: the new promotional concept, People 2 People; promoting the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, GEM 2020; and promoting each tourist attraction separately, Branding by Destination.
She added that the ministry seeks to open new markets that represent new energy for Egyptian tourism, such as the markets of China and India in Asia, Latin America and the United States.
For his part, Jeremy Jauncey, founder of Beautiful Destinations, said the promotional content the company provides is innovative and does not rely on images alone, but is accompanied by the story of the place, attracting millions of followers to the company's accounts across the various platforms, who are guided by what they see there when making travel decisions.
The company's representatives reviewed its tourism promotion activity, explaining that tourists' interests have now changed and traditional promotion methods no longer attract them. They noted that the company has long experience in promotion and in creating brands for many tourist destinations in the United States, Abu Dhabi, the Philippines and Jamaica, in addition to many international airlines and hotels that rely on the company to set their promotional strategies.
