On the sidelines of the second day of ITB Berlin, Egyptian Minister of Tourism Dr. Rania Al-Mashat met with Norbert Fiebig, president of the German Travel Association (DRV).
Fiebig stressed German tourists' passion for and strong turnout in visiting Egyptian tourist destinations, especially given the country's political and economic stability, pointing to German tourists' growing interest in Nile cruises.
For her part, Al-Mashat referred to the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, "GEM 2020", one of the main pillars of Egypt's international promotional campaign, which will offer tourists a new experience when visiting the Pyramids area, in addition to its location near the new Sphinx International Airport, which will help encourage day trips to archaeological sites. She added that the airport will give tourism companies new opportunities to diversify their tour programs and combine cultural tourism with other types of tourism.
