The board of directors of the Chamber of Tourism Companies held a meeting with the chamber's members in the Red Sea to discuss the problems of companies operating within the Red Sea Governorate. A number of key points were discussed, most notably stressing the application of the system for issuing tourist trip permits in accordance with Minister of Tourism Decree No. 298 of 2014 and the strict activation of all its provisions, in order to preserve the gains of tourism companies and improve the quality of service provided to tourists.

The meeting also discussed taking stock of non-tourism offices that carry out tourism activities without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Tourism, as part of the measures the chamber is taking to exclude intruders from the tourism business, given their negative impact on the entire sector from a security, technical and economic standpoint. It was also agreed to prepare a new headquarters for the chamber's Red Sea branch.

The meeting reviewed the electronic and technological connectivity development system that the main chamber is currently implementing, which is expected to be completed by the end of next July, so that the chamber's branches can share in all the services provided to tourism companies in the governorates.

Coordination also took place with the chamber's Red Sea branch to prepare a study of a proposed mechanism for the work of tourism companies inside Hurghada International Airport, in order to remove any obstacles they may face while carrying out their work at the airport.

On another note, the chamber coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism to dispatch the tourist vehicle inspection committee to begin its work in Hurghada, where the committee completed the inspection of 609 tourist vehicles of various capacities on April 15 and 16.

In a related context, the main chamber's board of directors set a timetable for visiting all chamber branches in the various governorates to identify the obstacles and problems facing tourism companies across the country.
