In preparation for the launch of the 2019 Arab-African Youth Platform, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Minister of Civil Aviation Lt. Gen. Younis Al-Masry inspected Aswan International Airport this morning to review the preparations and the airport's final look after its development and upgrading to suit this important event, which Aswan is hosting from March 16 to 18, especially after Aswan was declared the capital of African youth.

During his tour, Al-Masry made sure that all the observations he had issued during his previous tour of the airport had been implemented. He also inspected the development and upgrading works in the international and domestic departure and arrival halls and the premium service lounges, and checked that the general appearance of the halls had been improved and the paintwork standardized and unified. All screens and seats have been updated, and all spaces inside the halls have been utilized for passengers' comfort.

The Minister of Civil Aviation also followed up on the paving and marking works of the tarmac area at the airfield, inspected the parking lots, planted areas and landscaping in the airport's outer courtyard and the repaving of the roads leading to the airport, and reviewed the finishing touches on the airport's new ceremonial gateway, built in Pharaonic style. He praised the efforts made by the airport staff and urged everyone to do more to provide the best services and necessary facilities for Egypt's guests taking part in the conference, in addition to assigning work teams from various specialties to speed up arrival procedures, along with coordinating with all authorities to present the airport in a fitting and honorable image before the eyes of the world.
