Zaazou Follows Up on Plans for Yanni's Concert at the Pyramids in Late October

Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou met representatives of the company organizing the concert by world-renowned Greek musician Yanni, his first-ever performance in Egypt, scheduled for 30 October at the foot of the Pyramids at the Sound and Light Show venue. The meeting reviewed and followed up on arrangements for the concert in coordination with the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority and in cooperation with the Ministry of Antiquities.

During the meeting, the minister stressed that supporting such events contributes significantly to promoting Egyptian tourism, especially after Yanni joined efforts to promote Egypt as a destination by sharing photos from his visit to Egypt and its landmarks through the retail outlets of electronics giant Sony.

Yanni is one of the best-selling recording artists, and his concerts in countries around the world have been hugely successful, helping to promote tourism in those countries.

The organizing company will also run a promotional campaign for Egypt to coincide with the concert, filming a documentary at tourist sites in Cairo and Giza to showcase Egypt's landmarks. The film will be broadcast on major American and British channels.

The concert is expected to be attended by senior state officials, ambassadors, and Egyptian and Arab artists, and to receive extensive local and international media coverage.
