Etihad Launches Daily Airbus A380 Flights Between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok

Etihad Airways has begun operating daily Airbus A380 flights between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, Thailand, for the first time. The inaugural flight arrived in the Thai capital on the morning of Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as part of the airline’s plans to increase capacity on the route during the winter travel season, offering The Residence, First, Business and Economy cabins.

According to a statement on Etihad’s website, deploying the A380 on the Abu Dhabi–Bangkok route responds to growing demand for travel to Thailand and provides additional capacity for passengers travelling between Asia, the Middle East and Europe through Zayed International Airport.

Bangkok is Etihad’s latest Asian A380 destination, following the launch of daily services with the aircraft between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo in June 2026.

Etihad Chief Financial Officer Rafael Quintas said the A380’s introduction to Bangkok marked a further step in the airline’s investment to meet growing travel demand.

He added that Thailand was an important market for Etihad, particularly in luxury travel, and that the additional capacity supported its Asian expansion plans and strengthened connectivity through Abu Dhabi.

Cabins on Etihad’s Bangkok A380 services

Etihad’s Airbus A380 services to Bangkok offer four travel categories: The Residence, First, Business and Economy.

The Residence is a private, three-room suite covering 125 square feet and accommodating two guests. It includes a separate living room, a bedroom with a double bed, and a private bathroom with a shower.

Residence services include complimentary internet, personalized dining, chauffeur service and access to a private suite in Etihad’s Abu Dhabi lounges.

First Class features nine private compartments with sliding doors. Each has a seat that converts into an 80.5-inch bed and a 24-inch entertainment screen, along with access to an onboard shower room.

Business Class offers 70 seats on the upper deck, converting into fully flat, 80-inch beds, with direct aisle access and 18.5-inch entertainment screens.

Economy Class has 415 seats with 11.1-inch touchscreens and charging ports for electronic devices, as well as Wi-Fi service.

Etihad’s Abu Dhabi–Bangkok flight schedule

Daily flight EY402 departs Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 9:20 p.m. and arrives in Bangkok at 6:35 a.m. the following day.

In the opposite direction, daily flight EY403 leaves Bangkok at 8:35 a.m. and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 12:20 p.m. All times are local to each airport.

The services allow travellers from Thailand to connect through Abu Dhabi to destinations across Etihad’s global network. Eligible passengers can also use the Abu Dhabi Stopover programme, which offers up to two complimentary hotel nights, subject to the programme’s terms and conditions.

The introduction of the A380 on the Bangkok route forms part of Etihad’s expansion in Asia, with a focus on increasing seat capacity and providing more travel options during the winter season.
