Royal Jordanian to Launch Twice-Weekly Aqaba–Moscow Flights from December 20

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Royal Jordanian Airlines and the Jordan Tourism Board have signed an agreement supporting direct flights between Moscow and Aqaba, Jordan, twice weekly. The first service is expected to launch on December 20, 2026.

The agreement aims to strengthen Aqaba’s links with international tourism markets and increase Russian arrivals, supporting tourism and economic activity in the city and nearby destinations, according to a post on the authority’s LinkedIn account.

The authority’s Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs said the agreement forms part of efforts to develop Aqaba’s international flight network and open new tourism markets. He highlighted the importance of the Russian market and its potential to stimulate tourism.

He explained that Aqaba offers diverse attractions and links with major Jordanian destinations, including Petra and Wadi Rum, enabling Russian visitors to explore several destinations during a trip to Jordan.

The agreement supports expansion of Aqaba’s international connectivity, its hotel, transport and tourism services sectors, and cooperation with tour operators in target markets.
