Riyadh Air Says Baggage Recovery Timeline Remains Uncertain After Flight Changes

Riyadh Air has said it cannot confirm when checked baggage and personal belongings will be recovered for passengers affected by recent flight changes in Riyadh, citing operational, security and regulatory requirements.

According to an update on the airline’s website, passengers do not need to take any further action at this stage unless contacted directly by the company.

The airline said it continued to coordinate with airport management and the relevant security and regulatory authorities to gain access to affected baggage and belongings and return them to their owners when possible.

Recovery procedures for checked baggage and personal items left on aircraft include identifying and securing the items so they can be returned once access is available.

For belongings that may have been left in airport terminals or other facilities, Riyadh Air said recovery was subject to arrangements established by airport management and the competent authorities. Coordination was continuing to determine the necessary procedures, and affected passengers would receive new information as soon as it was confirmed.

The airline reiterated that it could not provide a firm recovery and return date because the process depended on operational, security and regulatory requirements. It advised affected travellers to take no additional action unless contacted directly with a request to do so.
