The Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Authority for Tunnels, announced that preparations were complete for the switch to winter time after midnight on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Operating hours for the three metro lines, Light Rail Transit (LRT) and East Nile Monorail will be as follows:

First trains on Lines 1 and 2 depart Helwan, New El Marg, Shubra El Kheima and El Mounib at 5:15 a.m.
First trains between Adly Mansour and Cairo University, in either direction, depart at 5:15 a.m.
The first train from Adly Mansour towards Rod El Farag Axis departs at 5:20 a.m.; the first in the reverse direction leaves at 5:15 a.m.
Last departures from Helwan and New El Marg: 11:40 p.m.
Last departure from Shubra El Kheima: 11:55 p.m.
Last departure from El Mounib: 12:05 a.m.
Last departure from Adly Mansour towards Cairo University: 11:33 p.m.
Last departure from Adly Mansour towards Rod El Farag Axis: 11:29 p.m.

Final trains on Lines 1 and 2 connect at Anwar El Sadat station at 12:25 a.m.

The final connection between Lines 2 and 3 at Cairo University takes place at 11:45 p.m.
