Misr Company for Sound, Light and Tourism Development is holding a major celebration to introduce Chinese as one of the main languages of the sound and light shows at the Pyramids and Karnak Temple, on Saturday, February 2, at the Pyramids area, in cooperation with the China Cultural Center. At Karnak Temple in Luxor, it will take place during the last week of the same month, and many ministers and prominent figures in the tourism and cultural fields are set to be invited.

The sound and light show will thus be presented live in 9 languages: Arabic, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese, as part of the company's strategy to attract tourists of various nationalities.

In this context, Sameh Saad, head of Sound and Light Company, stated that under the auspices of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, and in cooperation and coordination with the Chinese attaché, the director of the China Cultural Center in Cairo and the cultural counselor at the Egyptian Embassy in Beijing, the introduction of Chinese at the Pyramids and Karnak has been completed for the first time in the history of sound and light, so Chinese tourists will be able to enjoy the show directly.

Saad added that the show was recorded using the latest technical methods with the help of famous Chinese actors, and tourism companies working in inbound tourism are now being received to bring every Chinese tourist to attend the show. Once the winter season ends, the company intends to prepare to introduce Chinese at the other sound and light sites.

Saad noted that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visits to China have created a new future for Chinese tourism in Egypt, as Chinese tourism last year achieved three times what it did in 2010, placing the Chinese market sixth among the top 10 source markets for tourism to Egypt in terms of numbers and tourist nights.
