The Egyptian pavilion at World Travel Market (WTM London 2026), currently taking place in the British capital, won the Best Stand Design and Best Stand Activation awards in recognition of its innovative design and distinctive interactive experience.
The pavilion reflects the richness and diversity of Egypt’s tourism and archaeological attractions, enabling visitors to explore the country’s identity through a journey combining its ancient civilisation with its cultural and tourism diversity.
Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, received both awards at the Egyptian pavilion from Conan Jal, Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships at WTM London, in the presence of Pete Kumposcht, Chief Sales Officer, and Jonathan Hull, Sales Director.
Fathy expressed his delight at the pavilion’s success, saying the recognition reflects efforts to present Egypt in an innovative, contemporary way that highlights the unparalleled diversity of its attractions, products and tourism experiences. He said the pavilion brings Egypt’s promotional message, “Unparalleled Diversity”, to life through an interactive experience introducing visitors to the country’s distinctive and varied tourism offering.
The minister noted that the awards carry particular significance as Egypt is this year’s Premier Partner of WTM London. This strengthens its international tourism presence and highlights its status as a global destination combining ancient civilisation, unique natural assets and modern tourism experiences catering to a wide range of interests and preferences.
