Saudia Unveils Premium Economy Seats at WTM London Ahead of Planned 2027 Introduction

Saudia unveiled its new Premium Economy seats at World Travel Market London 2026. They offer up to 43 inches of seat pitch and 15.5-inch entertainment screens and are expected to debut on new Boeing 787 aircraft joining the fleet in 2027.

The airline said Premium Economy will provide a new option between Economy and Business Class as part of its “New Saudia Experience” initiatives, offering extra space and more choice, according to its LinkedIn account.

The seats will also be introduced on selected aircraft in the existing fleet, including Airbus A330s, Boeing 777s and Boeing 787s, under a phased cabin refurbishment programme.

Premium Economy seat features

The seats feature up to 43 inches of pitch, 15.5-inch entertainment screens and an extendable leg rest.

The design incorporates enhanced privacy and additional storage for personal belongings, distinguishing the cabin from standard Economy.

The new cabin forms part of Saudia’s investment in onboard services and additional options tailored to travellers’ needs and preferences.

When Premium Economy will be available

Saudia expects the cabin to be available on new Boeing 787s scheduled to join the fleet in 2027.

The airline also plans to introduce it on selected existing Airbus A330, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft as part of a gradual refurbishment plan.

The announcement did not specify a detailed commercial launch date or the routes on which the cabin will initially be offered.

Developing the travel experience

Arved Muhlen, Saudia’s Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs, said the airline is developing its travel experience to meet passengers’ expectations and diverse needs.

He added that Premium Economy offers a new option with greater comfort and privacy, supported by continued investment in product upgrades and aircraft cabin renewal.

He said WTM London provides an opportunity to introduce international partners to service developments and new products planned for travellers.

24 Business Class suites and 120 Economy seats on the A321XLR

Alongside Premium Economy, Saudia displayed Business Class seating for Airbus A321XLR aircraft that joined its fleet in 2026.

According to the airline, it is the first operator of the type in the Middle East and Africa. The aircraft offers 24 Business Class suites with fully flat beds and direct aisle access from every suite, alongside 120 Economy seats.

Saudia also showcased new hospitality products, including amenity kits and dining service items, as part of plans to improve services across travel classes.

The products were presented during Saudia’s participation at WTM London 2026 as it modernises cabins and broadens options across its fleet.
