Qatar Airways launched flights to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, and Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on November 4, 2026. The service operates twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, flying from Doha to Bogotá, continuing to Caracas and then returning to Doha, using Boeing 777-200 aircraft equipped with Qsuite cabins.
The airline said it has become the first Gulf carrier to operate flights to Venezuela and the first airline to offer direct services linking the Middle East with the Colombian and Venezuelan capitals, as part of plans to expand its network in the Americas and strengthen connectivity with the region, according to a publication on the Qatar Airways website.
Bogotá and Caracas are Qatar Airways’ 16th and 17th destinations in the Americas. Its South American operations began in 2010 with the launch of flights to São Paulo, Brazil.
Qatar Airways flight schedule to Bogotá and Caracas
The airline operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, linking Doha with both capitals under flight number QR783 across all three sectors.
QR783 departs Hamad International Airport in Doha at 7:35 a.m. and arrives in Bogotá at 4:25 p.m. It leaves Bogotá at 5:55 p.m. and reaches Caracas at 9:00 p.m.
The return sector departs Caracas at 11:30 p.m. and arrives at Hamad International Airport at 8:35 p.m. the following day. All times are local. This is a linked service between the three cities, rather than separate flights from Doha to each capital.
First Gulf airline to serve Venezuela
Qatar Airways said the launch of Caracas marks the first service by a Gulf airline to Venezuela as it expands in South America.
The new route links Doha, Bogotá and Caracas, with onward travel through Hamad International Airport to a range of international markets.
Key connecting markets include Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, through Qatar Airways’ network of more than 170 destinations worldwide during the current winter season.
LATAM partnership expands travel within Colombia
Qatar Airways recently expanded its partnership with LATAM Airlines to include LATAM Airlines Colombia, offering additional connections from Bogotá to other Colombian cities.
Under the partnership, Qatar Airways will place its code on LATAM-operated flights from Bogotá to domestic destinations including Cartagena, Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Leticia, Medellín, Montería, Neiva, Pereira, Pasto and Riohacha.
The destinations also include San Andrés Island, Santa Marta and Yopal, providing more ways to reach different parts of Colombia via Bogotá.
The expanded cooperation with LATAM coincides with the launch of the Bogotá and Caracas route and forms part of Qatar Airways’ efforts to increase connections in South America.
