The Chamber of Tourism Companies called on companies organizing tourist Hajj programs for the 1440 AH/2019 season to make use of the facilities included in this year's Hajj rules, especially regarding the elderly and family ties.

In this context, Basel El-Sisi, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, explained that the rules set certain conditions for receiving the passports of those wishing to perform Hajj, most notably that a man must be at least 25 years old unless he is accompanying one of his parents. To support this group and make it easier for companions to serve them, the rules allow a companion of one of his parents to register at no less than 18 years of age. He added that women under 45 must be accompanied by a mahram (male guardian), and they register together in a single application.

It is worth noting that applications for tourist Hajj will continue to be received until next March 17, with the public electronic lottery to select pilgrims to be held on March 27, according to the rules regulating Hajj this year.

For his part, Ahmed Ibrahim, head of the chamber's Religious Tourism Committee, said the Hajj rules included facilities for families and all cases of family ties, allowing one family of first-degree relatives to register with companies with a maximum of 5 members under one receipt number (family ties only), to ensure that all family members travel together if one of them wins.

He noted that the rules also include a waiting list for each tourism company with the names of its pilgrims in descending order, so that after the lottery is held and the final number of supervisors is settled, pilgrims whose turn comes are moved up to complete the number allocated to each company.
