Entry Requirements for Saudi Citizens Travelling to Four Western Balkan Countries

The Saudi Embassy in Tirana has clarified entry requirements for Saudi citizens travelling to Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro. Visa requirements for Montenegro take effect on November 1, 2026, while Albania offers visa-free entry during a specified period and Kosovo allows it year-round.

According to the embassy’s update, requirements differ between the four countries. Albania and Kosovo permit visa-free entry during their announced exemption periods, while North Macedonia and Montenegro require a national visa or an accepted alternative visa, as specified for each country. The information was published on the Saudi Embassy in Tirana’s X account.

Visa-free entry to Albania until December 31

The embassy said Albania permits Saudi citizens to enter without a visa from April 15 to December 31.

This exemption allows Saudi citizens to travel to Albania without obtaining an entry visa during the period specified in the update.

Kosovo permits visa-free entry throughout the year

The embassy confirmed that Saudi citizens can enter Kosovo without a visa year-round, with no seasonal exemption period. This differs from Albania’s time-limited exemption.

Entry requirements for North Macedonia

Saudi citizens entering North Macedonia require a Macedonian visa or a previously used visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, according to the embassy.

Saudi travellers must therefore satisfy one of the visa requirements listed in the update before travelling to North Macedonia.

Montenegro requires a visa from November 1, 2026

The embassy said that, from November 1, 2026, Saudi citizens entering Montenegro need a Montenegrin visa or a valid, previously used visa issued by one of the authorities specified in the update.

Accepted alternatives include visas from the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Ireland. The embassy stated that stays in Montenegro must not exceed 30 days under the announced conditions.

Contacting the Saudi Embassy in Tirana

The embassy invited Saudi citizens with questions or comments to use the official contact channels published in its update during working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The clarifications set out visa requirements for Saudi citizens travelling to the four countries, taking account of the differing entry conditions and exemption periods in each destination.
